I have chosen 50 Cent"Get Rich or Die Tryin" as this album cover because it shows he has got money because he is wearing a long and big shiny chain with a cross on it and he has what it looks like a very expensive watch. Also on the album cover  at the front it has glass that has been smashed that could suggest that he has done crime and bad things in his life also he has got Tattos.

  

I have chosen Jessie J as this album cover because it shows that she is wealthy because she is wearing a gold chain round her neck,that could suggest she has got money and gold is a very nice colour which could show about the awards.The clothing that she is wearing is dark such as her hair, nail varnish, lipstick and also her top.

I have chosen Wiz khalifa as this album cover because it shows that he has got money and he is wealthy.He is wearing a big black and white coat with a silver chain around his neck and rings on his fingers.The background and the setting looks like he is in a room and the colour is a greyish/blue.The chain that he is wearing and the rings look expensive and the chair that he is sitting in looks and maybe suggests that he is rich and he is the main guy.

I have chosen Justin Timberlake as this album cover because it shows a lot of things such as the machinery around his face, that could show that he can see in to the future. Also he is wearing a bow tie and a tuxedo that may suggest that he is ready for the awards and the writing JT THE 20/20 EXPERIENCE is in gold and also a bright  which shows that he is wealthy.







I have chosen Tinie Tempah Disc-overy as this album cover because it is very creative and shows a lot, such as he is wearing a watch, glasses, earing and a silver chain around his wrist that says that he is wealthy.His arms are surrounding what it looks like a city that shows that he is holding the city in his arms and he is the main guy of the city.

 I have chosen Jason Derulo as this album cover because the background is gold which shows he has got money and maybe the awards in the future.Also on the drawing of him on the front he has earrings on, which could show that he is wealthy.

I have chosen Chris Brown F.A.M.E as this album cover because it shows that the writing says FAME, and there is people around him in the background so he can see the future and he is going to be famous.he looks wealthy because he is wearing hats and earrings in the background and on the main picture of Chris Brown.

I have chosen Mike Posner 31 minutes to take off as this album cover because it shows that he is also wealthy because the title of the album cover is in gold which is a rich colour also underneath it says 31 minutes to take off that means that he is on a private plane getting ready to take off and he is wearing a watch on his left hand.

I have chosen Lady Gaga as this album cover because she is wearing dark black glasses and in the corner of them it says fame,also i think this is the song called paparazzi that means she wants a lot of paparazzi and to be famous. In the left side of her glasses she has what it looks like silver shiny flakes.








Lastly I have chosen Christina Aguilera as this album cover because it shows on the right hand side of her face it looks like she is a robot and she can maybe see into the future. She is also wearing red lipstick and  has white hair which basically camouflages into the background and she looks very wealthy.

I chose this music video because it shows women in a negative way. At the beginning of the video, the camera is mainly aimed on Beyonce.The camera shows her bum and then she starts dancing on the floor. At one point in the music video she is dancing very sexually in a alley way with a group of women which shows that she could be an object of desire. Another point in the video she was dancing around Jay Z sexually. At the end of the video her movement, dancing and gestures were sexual and she was biting her finger. Also mostly in the video Beyonce was wearing very shorts clothes.

I chose this music video because it shows women in a positive way. At the beginning of the music video. She is standing in front of a massive wall which leads into a maze. She is wearing a purple and black cape which are dark colours and they are not really inviting. She is also wearing dark red lipstick, purple eyelashes and purple eyebrows. In this video she is not shown as a object of desire because she is not dancing sexually and not wearing short clothes that are revealing.The setting behind her is in a maze and it is very dark.

I chose this music video because it shows women in a negative way. In the beginning of the music video the camera is close up on nicole and on her face. Also at the beginning of the video she is dancing very sexual and she is wearing what it looks like just a green jacket so that could suggest that she is an object of desire she is also wearing glasses and jewellery. Throughout the music video she is dancing with a group of women on a wall and then she is dancing in a swimming pool and at the end she winks at the camera.

Representation of women in rap videos

These images do provide pleasures to some viewers. But the concern is that men may internalise the notion that women are nothing more than sexual objects waiting to be used.

These sorts of images are not unique to hip hop. Objectified female bodies are everywhere. They appear throughout our culture in films, advertisements, television programmes etc. However, within music videos, this is virtually the ONLY vision of women available.

The women in the Hip Hop music video's show that they are very powerful and want to be very important, also in the videos the hand gestures and body language is very sexual and they are wearing short clothes to stand out to viewers. In programmes, films, television and advertisements you wont really see these sort of things, but in music videos you will because it has changed since 1998-2012. In 1998 the group called spice girls sang a song called Wannabe and in 2012 Katy Perry sang a song called California girls. It has changed dramatically through the years by having lots of clothes on to having no clothes on.

The women in the music videos are just playthings and eye candy, mainly girls that want to be in the videos just want to be in television and get with the artist. In most music videos you will see ever the women or the male artist with flash cars money and with fancy and expensive clothes.
The way the women in music videos act is not unique to hip hop because they are not being themselves and they are just showing that they are sexual objects waiting to be used. One of the most famous rap artist is 50 Cent, he is a prime example of a rap artist  because in this video (Candy Shop) he shows off his muscle and has lots of women around him.
However  do agree with this statement" These sorts of images are not unique to hip hop.Objectified female bodies are everywhere.They appear throughout our culture in films, Advertisements  television programmes etc. However within music videos, this is virtually the only vision of women available".

I disagree with this statement because hip hop music doesn't mean that you have to be manly, have to have all the girls and be strong and tough.50 Cent-candy shop was the song that was chosen,and in the song he acts like he owns everything and shows that he has all the girls.At the beginning of the video he turns up,and goes through the big metal gates with his nice and very expensive car to show that he has got money. When he walks through the doors there are women at the bottom of the stairs,on the stairs and in every room.This also suggests that rappers and Hip Hop singers, denotations show that the men are wearing big coats and jewelry to show off to the women and the women's denotations shows that they are wearing short clothes and jewelry as well.Another song was by the pussycat dolls (I wanna be famous) in this song they were dancing very sexual and have very short clothes on.Also in a part of the video the pussy cat dolls done a dance routine

The connotation of the rapper is that the clothes that he is wearing suggests that if you had nevery seen him before you would think that that he would be a rapper with his big puffer coats and bling.In the videos when the rappers sing there hand gestures make them look tough and you dont know how they act ouside of the videos they might be soft and not act anything like this.Aparently aswell if you dont live up to these idols,you will be called wimp,soft and weak.The atmosphere in the video candy shop shows that it is fast moving from different room and outside it is a big mansion and 50 cents expensive red car.
Also talking about the clothes in the video, 50 Cent takes off his big coat and goes into a room with a white vest on to show his masculinity and to show off to the women. the women in a part of the video have got a short red jacket,red hat and red jeans.

The summary of the video is that 50 cent is acting tough and dominating the men and women.Also his gestures and the ay he is walking makes him look like he owns the whole house.
